Hamravât Aqueduct
The aqueduct, located in the northwest of the city, brought water to the city from the Hamravat source at Karacadağ, near the village of Gözeli, and connected to a covered watercourse. Suleiman the Magnificent commissioned the aqueduct between 1535 and 1539. It is said that when Suleiman the Magnificent visited the city on his Baghdad Expedition, he saw a lack of water supply, so when at Karacadağ he found the Hamravat spring, he decided that it should be conveyed to the city.
